Kurkuri Bhindi - Crispy Okra

Spicy-zingy kurkuri Bhindi is served with chapatti, naan or rice. In fact you can serve them as a snack/appetizer. The okra chunks are marinated with spices and gram flour and then deep fried till crispy and crunchy. Even those who don’t relish eating Bhindi will love these for sure.

Ingredients for Kurkuri Bhindi

  •     Lady finger - 200 gram
  •     Gram flour - 2 tbsp
  •     Corn flour - 2 tbsp
  •     Salt - ½ tsp
  •     Garam masala - ½ tsp
  •     Mango powder - ¼ tsp
  •     Red chilly powder - ¼ tsp
  •     Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
  •     Chaat masala - ½ tsp

How to make Crispy Okra

Wash lady finger’s twice thoroughly and place in a sieve. Dry and clean with a dry cloth. Now take 1 lady and remove the stalk. Cut lady finger into four equal parts thinly.

Place all the sliced ladyfinger’s in a big bowl so that it becomes easy to mix the spices. Add salt, red chilly powder, turmeric powder, mango powder, and garam masala in the bowl and mix until the lady fingers get coated properly with the spices. Now keep the marinated lady finger’s aside for 10 minutes so that they become moist form their own juice. Add corn flour and gram flour on these lady fingers’s and mix until they get coated nicely. Lady fingers are ready for frying.

Take oil in a pan. When oil gets hot gently place lady fingers as much as possible at a time and cook on high flame until they become crispy and turn golden brown in color. Take them out in a plate and like wise fry all lady fingers.

Add chaat masala in fired lady fingers. Crispy lady finger is ready.

Serve it as a side dish or as a snack, you will love it.
