Raita is an important food item. It not only makes the simple white Curd delicious, but also helps in digestion. Cucumber has a cooling effect and when taken with curd serves the purpose of keeping body and mind cool in this season of heat.
Ingredients to make Cucumber Raita (Kheera Raita)
Yogurt(Curd) - 250 gms.
Cucumber - 2 (medium sized)
Green Chilli - 2 (chopped)
Black Pepper - 1/4 tea spoon
Salt - 1/2 tea spoon
Roasted Cumin seed powder - 1/2 tea spoon
Method- How to make Cucumber Raita
Whisk the curd and keep it aside.
Peel the cucumber and cut about 1/2 inch from both the ends. Dry the water from it and grate the Cucumber.
Now put grated Cucumber, salt, green chilly, black pepper, roasted cumin seed powder into the curd and mix them well. Cucumber Raita is ready.
Take out the raita in a serving bowl, and garnish it with roasted cumin powder. Serve it along with your meal.
