Curry prepared from Kakore is very tasty, Kakore is available in the market from the month of October. There are 2 types of Kakore available in the market, big ones and small ones.
Ingredients for Kakora Recipe
Kakore - 250 grams
Oil - 1 1/2 tbsp
Heeng(asafoetida) - 1 pinch
Jeera - 1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder - less than 1/4 tsp
Coriander(dhaniya) powder - 1 tsp
Salt - 1/2 tsp (add to taste)
Red chilli powder - 1/6 tsp
Amchur(mango) powder - 1/4 tsp
Garam masala - 1/6 tsp
How to make Kakora Recipe
Wash Kakore properly with clean water, cut it into 4 halves.
Pour oil in a pan(kadhai) and heat. Fry Heeng and Jeera in hot oil. After Jeera is fried put turmeric powder, coriander powder followed by pieces of Kakore, salt, red chilli powder and Amchur powder. Mix all of these ingredients properly then fry. While frying Kakore keep the gas on a high flame and stir from time to time. Kakore will be cooked in 6-8 minutes, put Garam masala in the curry and fry for another 1-2 minutes.
Kakore curry is ready. Take out Kakore in a bowl, and serve with hot paranthas or chapati and eat.
