Makhana Raita Recipe - Puffed Lotus seeds Raita Recipe

Puffed lotus seeds are often used for making paag, snacks and sabzi. Today we are making roasted puffed lotus seeds raita. This raita taste different once roasted puffed lotus seeds are soaked in curd for a while.

Ingredients for Phool Makhana Raita

  • Curd – 2 cup (500 grams)
  • Louts seeds – 1 cup (20 grams)
  • Mint leaves – 10 to 12
  • Cumin powder – ½ tsp (roasted)
  • Black salt – ½ tsp
  • Salt – less than ½ tsp
  • Green chilly – 1
  • Sugar – 1 tsp

How to Make Makhana Raita

Whisk the curd first. Remove seeds from green chilly and chop it finely. Also, finely chop the mint leaves.

Preheat a pan. Place lotus seeds into it, stir constantly and roast until they slightly change in color. Within 2 to 3 minutes lotus seeds are ready. Add roasted cumin powder, black salt, plain salt, finely chopped green chilly, mint leaves, sugar and roasted lotus seeds in the curd. Mix all ingredients really well.

Within 15 to 20 minutes lotus seeds will soak the curd. Chilled lotus seeds raita is ready. Prepare for yourself and serve it as well.
